The story

An Ideal Husband is one of the iconic plays written by Irish author Oscar Wilde. This dramatic comedy tells a story of blackmail, intrigue and love. We get to know Sir Robert Chiltern, a brilliant politician in Victorian England. In the eyes of his wife, Gertrude, he is the ideal husband. However, he carries a dark secret from his past. This secret is about to be revealed when suddenly Mrs. Cheveley appears in London. She knows the true origin of his wealth and career and plans to use this knowledge to blackmail him. Robert tries everything in his power to avoid this secret coming to light and can count on the help of his loyal friend and ultimate dandy, Lord Goring. Will the ideal husband finally tumble from his pedestal?
